New Jaguar XJ220S heading to Arizona auction Review
Before we go through the main point, let’s remember the past. Well, the news is all about the Jaguar XJ220S which had been originally unveiled in the past eighties as a concept. At that time the respond of the society was so great that the production version was only launched to just 350 units.
The body of the standard XJ220 had been built from aluminum. Then nine of the cars were modified by TWR in which three of them were modified into the XJ220C to participate in GT racing and the rest were created as the XJ220S. The XJ220S had divided into five standard units and one additional modified version. All of them were built as road- going cars in order to meet the homologation regulations and one of them is now available for auction.
In creating the XJ220S the TWR has removed all the aluminum bodywork excluding the doors and changed it with carbon fiber completed with a front splitter, rear wing and wider side sills. All of those alteration was done in order to get the weight reduced to just a thousand kilograms. The twin- turo V6 also was tuned up so that it is able to spawn output of 680 ponies and more than 526 foot-pounds of torque.
