The Focus Electric is not the one which has been introduced by Ford. To accompany this Focus Electric, the firm also adds two more models, including the C- MAX Hybrid and the C- MAX Energi plug- in hybrid. The automaker said that the two models will available for all electric-mode at higher speeds than others in its range. The company is expecting these new models to be able to face against its competitors like Toyota Prius models. Both cars are set to have its premiere in North America next year. The company claimed that the plug- in C- MAX Energy will spawn an improved fuel economy equivalent (MPGe) in all-electric mode compared to that of the Toyota Prius plug- in hybrid completed with a 500 miles or around 800 km driving range. on the other hand, more fuel economy will be delivered by the Hybrid version compared to that of the Prius V.
The director of Ford’s Electrification Programs and Engineering, Sherif Marakby said that the C- MAX was built in combination of dynamics and quality of a traditional vehicle and the flexibility of a MAV so that it can enhanced its fuel efficiency which can be got from its rival. A naturally aspirated 2.0 liter gasoline engine features both hybrid versions of the C- MAX. This naturally aspirated engine can be operated either on the Atkinson-cycle, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Ford C-MAX Hybrids.
