Mazda’s New Diesel Powered Model for the States Review
Last summer, a mild of rumors suggested that Mazda was planning to launch its first diesel model in the United States and now the rumors are coming true since the company’s spokesman has officially confirmed bout this plan, giving a debut date.
Well, it was Mazda spokesperson, Jeremy Barnes who stated to an online magazine Car&Driver that Mazda may launch its first diesel powered after the launch of the Skyactiv- G gasoline engine in the Mazda 3 in around 15 to 18 months later. When the Skyactiv- G Mazda3 had arrived in the States in October last year, thus the diesel model would have arrived on sale in the first months of next year.
However, there is no information on the first Japanese’s diesel model, as well as with Barnes did not mention the vehicle’s name. Yet, last year an unnamed source suggested that the new Mazda diesel would be the freshly unveiled CX-5. Well, it was great since the CX- 5 was already offered with Mazda’s new Skyactiv 2.2 liter diesel in Europe and Japan.

The first is able to sprint away from standstill to a hundred kilos per hour or 62 mph in 10.0 seconds sprint time, reaching a top speed at 198 km/h. on the other hand the 175 hp version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds sprint time while reaching 202 km/h top speed. The second version figures a fuel consumption of 4.5 lt/ 100 km or 52.3 mpg in European combined cycle, while the CO2 emissions is delivered at 119 g/km.
