Nearly a week ago, Chevrolet has just promised us to bring its final model of 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS to have its public outing at the Detroit auto show in the beginning of next year. However, bad news comes from the General Motor which has convinced to wrap again this Sonic RS 2013 model year.
A number of questions related to this upcoming hot hatch have spread following the unwrapping of the hatch. Yet, the images released by the General Motor have answered all of those questions. From the pictures we can see that the vehicle seems to only come in the form of hatchback version. The Chevrolet Sonic RS will be empowered by the turbocharged 1.4 liter Ecotec engine. there is no improvement on the power figures compared to the standard unit found on the others like the Cruze.
The engine will be coupled to a six- speed manual transmission as standard features, while a six- speed automatic will be offered as optional. Both manual and automatic transmissions are claimed to be more aggressive with closer ratios than that of the other models in its range.
The Sonic will feature an exclusive front fascia completed with a new designed fog lamp layout, , a new grille specific to the RS, new rear fascia, new rear spoiler, new rocker moldings, unique caps for the mirrors, a retuned exhaust with a sportier note and chrome tips, unique 17-inch wheels and a lowered suspension.
Move into the cabin and you will find new front sport seats, a new sporty steering wheel along with a thicker rim and flat-bottom, aluminum sport pedals, unique instrument panel graphics, RS-specific interior trim colors for the instrument panel and door trim inserts and a new shifter knob offered only in six-speed manual.
